what the docent thinks
the man in the room
touches the wall then
sniffs his finger expecting
what? exactly other than
the smell of flesh or
paint if the wall was
just painted but there's
clearly nothing there,
it's not wet, not even
dusty or the slightest
hint of mold given
the controlled air
so why does he sniff
his finger like that
when the museum
is full of better work
to sniff your nose at
than that of some
poor schmuck stuck
with a brush from
Porter Paints like
that blank canvas
doused in blue some
fool got two million
for before he died
